Where to stay in Canada

Accommodation is one thing travelers get into their itinerary first. And a practical thing to do as well to scope your budget as early as possible. And since we had our weeks of stay in Canada, fortunately, my sister has an empty room in her apartment. It does help us save dollars for sure. So as my number one advise if you’re going to stay for long abroad, check some of your friends or relatives staying there and asked them if you can stay with them for a couple of days or weeks. Because at the then end of the day, you get to spend the money you saved for a meal or even shopping.

My sister is residing in Toronto and we spent most of our time here. We even managed to do laundry and jog along the neighbourhood. It was a refreshing sight, for once you get to see new people and surrounded by unfamiliar flowers and trees.

But what if you don’t have anyone to stay with? You can always go with Airbnb. Some of the Airbnb we’ve tried around Canada are:

Toronto: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/18563132. Not so close from Downtown but some grocery and convenience stores are near the area.

Ottawa: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/15143924. 20 minutes away from Downtown with nice space. Clean and have restaurants nearby.

Montreal : https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/11212298. Excellent and clean apartment. And they have a cute cat! Pet friendly places is heart.

For a list of hotels, we’ve only tried two budget-friendly hotels: Hotel Chrome in Montreal and Hotel du Nord in Québec. Unfortunately, I lost some photos from Hotel Chrome. It is 20-30 mins. away from Notre Dame. Breakfast is not included in rates and hallways are a bit dark tho.

Meanwhile Hotel du Nord is a bit far from the tourist spots that we’ve gone to. We’ve had a nice stay on our room and you can get some tea, coffee or water on their kitchen. Breakfast is also included with cereals, breads and fruits. You just need to go the kitchen to grab and eat.

Hopefully this helps your hunt for staycation. What are some of the airbnb/ hotels you’ve tried? Share it with me, I’d love to hear it out. Enjoy your lamyerda!
