A visit to Quebec: Notre Dame

I must say, Quebec is my favorite place at Canada. Aside from hearing those french conversations that sounded so romantic, their FOOD is so good. From Toronto, we went to Megabus terminal for an 8 hours road trip. Fortunately the bus had enough leg room. If you can, go on the first row of seats since they have tables and more leg room. They offer free wi-fi, power outlets, reclining seats, bathroom and reservations are welcome. Since we are 3 travelling to Quebec, it costs CA$229 roundtrip including tax. For more information about Megabus, check out their site – https://ca.megabus.com/.

We arrived Quebec around 8am and grab our breakfast first at Tim Hortons. We stayed at Hotel du Nord and drop our baggage there first before we start our first day of Quebec exploration. For 2 days stay (3 pax) cost CA$268. They have various selection for breakfast btw – feels like a buffet!

First on our itinerary – Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal. Thank goodness I brought some Berocca on our way here. On our way to the cathedral there are performers on the side playing an inviting hymn on his violin. And horse carriages as well, their horses are so tall! This is where Celine Dion held her wedding as well as the funeral of her husband. It was a huge cathedral and you can feel the serenity inside. Entrance to Notre Dame is CA$7.

I’m at awe with the architecture, the lights on every corner and the great altar in front. Once you check the ceilings you’ll also notice the grand organ on the second floor. It’s a sigh we didn’t get to go near the organ as it prohibits the tourists. It’ll be an awesome experience if we get to attend a mass here.
