Our first accommodation upon arrival in Siargao is Jing’s Place. Homestay/ Guesthouse is very popular on the island as a lot of the tourists are either international and local backpackers. And it’s the best option to budget your expenses.
Their superior AC room is good for 2 pax and it only cost P1,500 per night. For groups good for 6 pax, you can book their family AC room that cost P2,400 per night. Both include breakfast and a private bathroom and shower. Jing requires you to pay 50% for a downpayment for reservation.
Van transport to Jing’s Place is P300/ each. The path towards Jing’s Place is muddy and a bit rocky though. As we arrived, the homey place is made mainly of nipa roof, surfboards on display and surfers showing off their board skills! I really am in Siargao.
Their superior AC room seems fitted for couples haha! Since there are a LOT of mosquitoes in the area (when I say a LOT, it’s really a LOT!), the room in equipped with mosquito net. Make sure to bring insect repellant with you. There are a lot of mosquitoes on the island, especially at night. For some reason, our room has one too even though it’s already closed and airconditioned huhu. There’s no tv btw in case you want to kill time. But there are outlets available in the room to charge your gadgets.
You can also dine outside the room if you have some food with you or you want your food to be delivered near your room.
And get to play with their cute puppies. I bet their no longer puppies by now.
They also offer surfing lessons and tour packages in case you haven’t booked one yet. Breakfast is usually served around 8am – 9am. But you could request them to have it served earlier. Free breakfast comes with a sunny side up egg and bread. Wifi is available but you have to request for the password, that we didn’t get to because only Jing’s son knows the password and his nowhere to be found o_O.
